APRIL April 1, 2004
__________________________________________ Math: The students are learning multiplication and division. Language Arts/Grammar: We just finished reading "Boom Town", a historical fiction story that is set in the past and portrays people, places, and events that did happen or could have happened. We studied present-tense verbs. Science: We are viewing some spectacular experiments. See the pictures in "Our Class Pictures". We have seen volcanoes erupt, saw the spinning of a tornado, and watched a cool demonstration of electrical currents and what they can do. Social Studies: We are hearing some wonderful reports on famous inventors. We are studying about history of our community. Birthdays: Happy Birthday to Alexa, Anthony, Jose S., and Danny! Supplies: Our homework notebooks are getting a little full and "used" looking. We are going to change over to folders until the end of the school year. I am asking that students bring in a pocket paper folder for their weekly homework. A small water bottle - This can be kept at their desk. We can refill at school. We are just having too many interruptions with students getting up and getting drinks at the water fountain during lessons. Some students need spiral notebooks for their Mountain Language/Spelling and Math work. With the allergy season upon us, we are in need of tissues. If you could bring in a box of tissue, it would be greatly appreciated. Miscellaneous: Yearbooks are on sale. They are $16.00 each. Our field trip is on April 15th. We are going to the Arizona Pioneer Living History Village. Math tutoring is available on Wednesday nights in the After School Program. Please sign up for it, if your child is having trouble in math. |
